In 2019 among the most successful creative industry events in New York were
footageMarketplace and
imageMarketplace. This year these two events have been combined and renamed
creativeMarketplace New York 2020. The event will be returning on April 1, 2020 to the Midtown Loft at 267 Fifth Avenue (29th St & 5th Av.) in New York City and will be open from 9:30am to 7:00pm.
If you weren’t at the Adobe MAX 2019 conference in Los Angeles you might want to check out some of the videos of conference presentations. Some of the most exciting events were the 11 Sneaks –demos that showcased early-stage, cutting-edge R&D technology being developed in-house by Adobe employees. Adobe Max Sneaks feature AI photography, animation, and audio tools. These new product features may or may not make their way into the product roadmap, but underscore the innovation and creativity happening daily within Adobe’s four walls.

It’s about a month before the
2018 CEPIC Congress, the premier annual meeting of commercial still and moving image suppliers, will take place from 30 May to 1 June at the Maritim proArte hotel in Berlin. Currently 250 delegates from 150 companies and 29 countries are scheduled to attend.
Joe Sohm, the creator of
Visions of America has been crisscrossing the U.S. for more that 30 years documenting the country as he sees it in all its beauty and uniqueness. From Presidential Campaigns of both parties to Landscapes & Cityscapes, Sohm is one of the most prolific Americana photographers. He has approximately 33,000 images in his collection. The collection is represented by the three major agencies – Getty Images, AdobeStock and Shutterstock – as well as a host of other agencies around the world.
Photographers at
PhotoPlus Expo report that they are receiving invitations to join
AdobeStock, but Adobe wants them to sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) before they get information about what the invitation is all about.

It’s time to start thinking about Photo Week in New York, October 22nd through 28th. It all starts with the Digital Media Licensing Association (
DMLA) conference beginning Sunday night through Tuesday. Then on Wednesday the 25th is
Visual Connections. Technically, the
PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo begins on Wednesday the 25th, but the trade show doesn’t really open until Thursday the 26th and runs for three full days through the 28th.
For photographers and videographers who want to see the see the newest equipment and trends as well as learn how to improve their skills, the annual
PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo at the Jacob Javits Center in New York from October 25-28 is a must-attend event.
I’ve just returned from the 2017 CEPIC Congress in Berlin. Here are eight of my takeaways from the conference.

Visual Connections. These events are also good places for photographers to meet stock agents and get a better understanding of industry trends.
Shutterstock, Inc. announced today that it will again offer comprehensive coverage at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Benefit, more commonly known as The Met Gala. This premier annual event of the fashion industry will be held on Monday, May 1st at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Among the attendees will be prominent and prestigious names in entertainment, fashion, sports, and business.

annual conference will be held in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Jersey City on October 27-29. DMLA is known for its exceptional educational programming related to current industry issues.

Visual Connections returns to Chicago on Thursday, May 5th to stage another networking and education event for art buyers and researchers who need images and footage. The venue will be the conveniently located Ivy Room at Tree Studios.
Yuri Arcurs, one of the most successful stock photographers in the world, is running another of his photographer training programs in Capetown, South Africa. This program is for 17 to 24-year-olds that are highly competitive, goal-oriented and have strong entrepreneurial and creative characteristics. Candidates must survive a two-week Boot Camp beginning February 1, 2016. (This is not marine training, but it will be an intense experience to determine what the candidates know and how quickly they learn.)
PhotoPlus 2015 International Conference + Expo welcomed more than 21,000 attendees from 67 countries and all 50 U.S. States. This year’s show also recorded the largest number of exhibitors in the past five years with 250, including 75 participating for the first time.
