The Association of Stock Image Licensors and Thriving Archives have launched  the ACSIL Global Survey of Stock Footage Companies 2, a comprehensive review of the stock footage business. The survey will assess overall business conditions within the stock footage industry and provide strategic, action-oriented information and insights to industry leaders. Participants who complete the online survey will be eligible to receive a complimentary summary report of the results and a 50% discount on the purchase of the final report.

ACSIL and Thriving Archives worked together in 2007 to produce the original ACSIL Global Survey of Stock Footage Companies, the first publicly available study of the stock footage industry. ACSIL co-president David Sheehan said: “At our core, ACSIL exists to support and promote the professional interests of the stock footage industry. This report, the proud successor to our ground-breaking 2007 survey, which provided unique insights into the size and scope of the marketplace, will advance the understanding of all business owners in the content licensing space.”

“Much has changed in the footage business since 2007, and it is a great privilege to be working once again with ACSIL to explore and illuminate the current state of the global footage industry,” said Thriving Archives founder David Seevers.

The survey will look at the impact of digital technology on how footage companies manage, present and deliver footage to the customer. It will also explore how changes in film and video production have affected customer type, demand and need; determine how footage companies market, promote and reach out to customers; and examine the impact of various trends on the footage industry as a whole.

All footage companies worldwide are invited to participate. The survey will be live through January 2011. To ensure that all proprietary information remains completely confidential, participants will not be asked to identify themselves or their companies on the survey.
