For the third consecutive year,
Corbis will be the exclusive media broadcast partner of the LOOK3 festival in Charlottesville, Virginia from June 13-15.
The festival is designed to bring together the international photography community, creating opportunities for attendees and artists to share images, ideas and inspiration. Last year’s sold-out event drew more than 1,000 photographers, photo editors and luminaries to Charlottesville and an additional 15,000 fans followed the event online.
“The Look3 festival is an inspiration to our industry. It brings us together as a community in a celebration of photography, storytelling, and creative expression. Corbis is thrilled to continue our support and partnership of the festival,” said Anil Ramchand, director of News, Sports and Entertainment for Corbis.
The Festival features exhibitions and on-stage appearances by six “INsight” artists, including Gregory Crewdson, Susan Meiselas, Richard Misrach, Michael Nichols, Josef Koudelka, and Carrie Mae Weems, as well as gallery shows, outdoor exhibits and nightly projections along the historic Downtown Mall over three days and nights. The annual TREES exhibit is a hallmark of the LOOK3 Festival with photographic banners suspended high in the trees along Charlottesville’s outdoor pedestrian mall. The 2013 TREES exhibit will feature the most recent work of National Geographic photographer Tim Laman.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Corbis again in 2013. As the exclusive media broadcast partner, Corbis plays a vital role in expanding the LOOK3 experience to thousands of viewers across the web. We couldn’t be more pleased with Corbis’s commitment to making LOOK3 one of the most dynamic and inspiring environments for photographers and members of the professional photo community” said Andrew Owen, managing director of LOOK3.
Daily roundups, artist talks and interviews with key personalities will be shared via social media outlets and available on the
