I too, am grateful for the information and effort that goes behind the preparation of the material on this site. In general I have found the info on Selling Stock to be of value and assistance with my efforts as a stock photographer. At times I have challenged Jim, in particular, because we do not see eye to eye on some issues, but the response has always been fair. These are difficult times in this industry. In some ways I wish we could skip ahead a few years. I am hopeful that there will be some evolution as microstock matures and as the traditional agencies adapt to the reality of the new marketplace. I find the uncertainty frustrating. Stock photography did at one time provide a pretty consistent income for me. I turned away client work to shoot stock almost exclusively. Now I am having to make an effort to balance the two, to maintain an earning level that I have become accustomed to. Micorstock in it's present form does not represent a viable alternative to me. While I do not like the devaluing aspect of microstock, at all, it is the poor return and extreme pressure on production expense that most frustrates me about microstock.

I still consider the jury to be out regarding moving into video, but I have made some efforts to move in that direction.

Keep the articles coming, and I will try and keep a positive attitude despite rather gloomy news. I’m a survivor.

Hey,
I would like to ask what is the estimated size for the total revenue of the microstock and stock industry in the period of 2007/2009.
Anybody has an idea?
