Swedish stock agency NordicPhotos is continuing its expansion with the purchase of Norwegian picture agency GV-Press. Founded in 1988, GV-Press represents over 50 image collections and is well-established in Norway's magazine market. Its Oslo operations will continue uninterrupted as it joins the NordicPhotos group of stock houses.
NordicPhotos was founded in 2000 and has been acquiring other industry properties since 2003. Thus far, it has purchased four Swedish stock agencies, including Mira Bildarkiv, IMS Bildbyrå, Tiofoto and Greatshots. As the name implies, NordicPhotos focuses on producing rights-managed and royalty-free imagery from Nordic countries. However, it also distributes and sells imagery by other established brands, including Stockfood and Image Source. The current Norway offering includes over 2.5 million images.
