New microstock launches include the U.K.-based Photola and Photo Wizard of Kingston, Mass. Photola requires bulk credit purchases, though the credits do not expire. Photo Wizard offers PayPal-based checkout for single-image and monthly or annual subscription purchases. Both sites are taking heavy criticism on online microstock contributor forums for unsophisticated technology and poor image editing. According to Stock Photo Talk, the total number of micro-payment Websites has reached 36.
