IPTC, PLUS Welcome Metadata Group Guidelines

The International Press Telecommunications Council and the Picture Licensing Universal System Coalition have welcomed the recently published guidelines of the Metadata Working Group. IPTC managing director Michael Steidl characterized the guidelines as “a huge step forward.” PLUS president and CEO Jeff Sedlik concurred: “The Metadata Working Group is addressing issues vital to the communication and preservation of metadata, which is critical in implementing the IPTC and PLUS standards.”
