Pulitzer Prize Photographers Tell Back Stories

The “Best In Show Festival 2016” of Pulitzer Prize-winning photographs will open at 12:00 noon Saturday, May 14, at the Palm Beach Photographic Centre in West Palm Beach, FL.
The free event will feature several Pulitzer Prize-winning photographers who will talk about their photographs and tell the backstories behind how they came to be. The accompanying exhibit features more than 130 photographs by 30 Pulitzer-winning photographers.
Among those who are scheduled to speak and exhibit their photographs are Carol Guzy, Chuck Porter IV, Mike Stocker, Brian Smith, and Alan Diaz. Legendary Time Magazine Director of Photography, Arnold Drapkin and The Palm Beach Post’s Picture Editor, Greg Lovett will give the editor’s view and perspective and along with the event emcee, DOUBLEtruck Magazine’s Director of Photography, Scott Mc Kiernan, who also curated the exhibit - moderate the talks.
The exhibit will be open until August 6, and it features work by several of top photojournalists of all time. Photographers represented in the exhibit include David Hume Kennerly, Paul Watson, John Kaplan, Lucien Perkins, Renée C. Byer, Dallas Kinney, William Synder, Rick Rickman, David Longstreath, Manny Crisostomo, Todd Buchanan, Hal Stoelze, Nick Ut, Andrees Latif, Yannis Behrakis, Alkis Konstantinidis, Srdjan Zivulovic, Brenadett Szabo, Alexandros Avramidis, Stoyan Nenov, Laszlo Balogh, Michael Dalder, Milton Brooks, and Tyler Hicks.
The images span the time from the first Pulitzer awarded for photography in 1942 by Milton Brooks of the Detroit News, to the most recent one a few weeks won by members of the photography staff of Thomson Reuters.
The program is also sponsored by ZUMA Press and DOUBLEtruck Magazine.
