PHOTOGRAPHER CHAT GROUPS

There are now private chat groups that are operating on the WWW for the artists

ONLY of the following agencies: The Image Bank, Stone, and FPG/VCG . In the near

future there will be a joint group that encompasses artists from all three Getty owned

companies.

Each group is seeking to increase it's membership, and welcomes new

members. However, the ONLY people who qualify for membership are those artists

under current contract with each respective agency. These are private e-mail

chat groups open to discussion on any subject

relevant to the artists, including business and contract issues.

It was recently reported on the Photo District News site that representatives from

The Image Bank Artist Chat group were in discussions with Getty on 25 contract issues that

had been developed by the TIB photographers. If you're interested in more details on

Artists interested in joining one of the groups should write to the moderator at the

e-mail address listed below, and send in the following request:

"I would like to participate in the web based e-mail discussion group called (fill

in the appropriate name based on your agency), which I understand is a chat group

comprised ONLY of artists under contract with that agency. I am currently an

artist under contract with that agency, and I am in no way affiliated with the

management of that agency or their franchises and have no intimate ties to anyone

who is. I agree that the effectiveness of the group, and open communications

within the group are directly dependent on keeping discussions confidential. I

will not knowingly pass on any information or names discussed on the site, in any

way that might end up in the hands of that agency's management or the press

without the agreement of the group.
