Fotolia Presents Reseller API at CEPIC Congress

Fotolia's new Reseller API targets traditional image agencies eager to get a piece of the microstock pie. The API allows third parties to market Fotolia's inventory, which is approaching 4 million images, under their own brands. The inventory can be presented as a stand-alone collection or integrated into an agency's existing offering. While images remain hosted by Fotolia, the reseller controls image pricing and payments from image buyers.

According to the microstock company, the API is cooperating with classic image banks. The first step was Fotolia's Infinite Collection, which provided a new midstock-priced sales outlet to high-end royalty-free producers.

Details of the Reseller API will be unveiled during this year's CEPIC Congress in Malta. On June 6, Fotolia president Oleg Tscheltzoff will also be addressing the future of the industry and image pricing at separate morning and afternoon seminars.
