TEXTBOOK MARKET GUIDE
March 6, 1998
The Guilfoyle Report has available a thorough and very useful report on the Textbook Market which
sells for $30.
This 16 page report was prepared for Guilfoyle by Fred Bodin, Townsend Dickinson and Linda Moore.
The report says educational publishing netted $4.5 billion dollars in 1996. We estimate that 3% to
3.5% of that is paid
to photographers and stock agencies for content. The report explains the kind of images that are
needed by the textbook
market and explains what to shoot. It lists specific subjects in demand. It also includes
information about 44 major
publishers and 28 Picture Research organizations and gives general information about the kind of
material each
needs.
The report includes "Advice from a Stock Agent," information about locating picture researchers,
and pricing information.
If you want to participate in this $150 million a year market you need to read this report.
