Royce Bair of The Stock Solution recently published some statistics on the
Internet that gave photographers an idea of the subject matter in greatest
demand.

TSS is a small to medium size agency located in Salt Lake City and some of
their top sellers relate to their local character. However, in my opinion the
general order of subjects listed has a lot of validity for most agencies with a
commercially oriented file.

TSS has their file organized into 447 subject areas. I have included the top
30 on their list. They were ranked using four factors: The number of sales
during the last 6 years (25% of the ranking score); the ratio of images in that
subject to the number of sales (25%); the number of sales in 1995 (25%); and the
ratio of images to number of sales in 1995 (25%).
