Stock Photography Timeline

Alamy has created a infographic timeline showing the History of Stock Photography.

They are actively seeking feedback and interaction on the infographic so that we can gather as much information as possible. They are hoping that once they have received enough input from image buyers and photographers, they’ll be able to take all the knowledge shared and add it to the current timeline to produce a really comprehensive history of stock photography.

Back in 2006 I published my own version of the History of Stock Photography which certainly needs to be updated.

Since I prepared my timeline from a U.S. perspective and Alamy from a European perspective, there may be distinctive features from both these areas and Asia that have been left out. Readers can help. If there is something you think needs to be added please send a note to either ynhentvyyrfcvr@nynzl.pbz or wvz@fpcubgbf.pbz

Thanks.
