Nature Picture Library (NPL) has acquired Bluegreen Pictures, a library specializing in sailing, boating, marine wildlife and landscapes photographs. Bluegreen was established by Karren May on the Isle of Wight and represents some of the top names in yachting photography, including Christian Fevrier, Yvan Zedda, Onne van der Wal, Rick Tomlinson and Gary John Norman. NPL is located in Bristol, England.

Bluegreen Pictures will continue to trade as a separate library with its own Web site, but future plans call for the two libraries to "share" images as appropriate across both sites. Both libraries have a certain amount of overlap in the subjects they cover.

NPL has a collection of about 115,000 images, all scanned and available on the Web. The Bluegreen collection contains about 45,000 images, the majority of which are scanned and available online.

NPL operates with a nine-person staff, and 78% of its revenue comes from direct sales to customers. 22% comes from sales through other sub-agents and portals. NPL has prepared a gallery of Bluegreen favorites and the new contact information for Bluegreen is: tel +44 (0)117 911 4698 or email vasb@oyhrterracvpgherf.pbz.
