France Cracks Down on Digital-Piracy Suspects

Computerworld reports that the French Government is taking digital piracy so seriously that it plans to cut off Internet Access of those suspected of it. The proposal is meeting with vocal opposition on constitutional grounds. A year ago, France passed a similarly controversial law, which makes unauthorized file-sharing a criminal offense punishable by up to six months in prison and a fine of $45,000.
