Stock Photo Prices - Educational & Retail Posters

All rates are based on a single photo being used. In cases where several photos belonging to a single photographer are used in one display discounts should be offered on each photo after the first one. In cases where several photos are used from different photographer each photographer should ask for the top price as if only one photo was being used.

Educational Posters or Study Prints

These are large lithographic prints or posters that may be used in the classroom as part of a teaching program. Often they will be of images that are also used in a textbook. These figures assume one image per poster. If several images are used on one poster a lesser figure should be charged, but never less than $200.

Retail Posters

These items are sold, usually individually, at retail locations. It is worth trying to determine the list sale price for these items. Approximately 50% of the selling price will be retained by the retail operator and the rest will go to the publisher to cover the costs of printing and delivery to the retail operator. It is useful to understand what a small percentage of the publisher’s revenue you will be receiving for the use of your picture which in reality is the product.
