Below is a list of the Getty Images revenue for the various segments of their business quarter by quarter from Q3 2002 through Q4 2007. At the beginning of 2008 Getty stopped supplying quarterly breakdowns.
It is important to note that much of the increases were do to acquisitions and price increases. In Q3 2002 the average price for a RF image was $107. That had risen to $200 by Q2 2004 and was $238 in Q2 2005. The peak was $256 per image licensed in Q1 2006.
The prices for RM images stayed relatively stable throughout this period hovering around $550.
The number of images licensed tended to jump whenever they made an acquisition, but remained relatively flat between acquisitions. The figures for Microstock for 2006 and 2007 are included in the RF numbers. They are estimates based on the number of downloads they reported for each quarter. We do know that iStock’s gross revenue in 2007 was $72 million.
