WoodWing Software of The Netherlands and London-based Imprezzeo have announced an agreement to incorporate Imprezzeo’s visual search technology into WoodWing’s Content Station, an online publishing tool for enterprise-level content producers.
Founded in 2000, WoodWing has been named among the local fast 50 by Deloitte. The company enables editorial staff to plan, create, manage and publish content both offline and on the Internet.
Launched in beta in October 2008, Imprezzeo’s enterprise solution uses visual search technology to perform similar-image searches. The technology is designed for easy integration with enterprise-level search, content-management and digital asset-management systems.
Integration into WoodWing’s suite of tools will enable the company’s customers to perform “more like this” image searches in addition to typing in keywords for metadata-based search functions. The integration between the two companies was first showcased at Vienna’s IFRA 2009, the leading annual event of the newspaper industry.
