Visual China Group has provided a
list of the third party image collections it represents. The combined totals of RM and RF images in these collections is over 10.5 million images.
It has been believed that VCG represents all the images in the Getty Images collection, but that appears not to be the case. (See Chart below). VCG has 64,408 images from the Stone collection, but if you search “All” for Stone on the Getty site there are 273,589 images. Evidently, VCG has edited the submissions offered them. On the other hand, on the Getty site there are only 63,983 images under The Image Bank brand that is wholly owned by Getty, but VCG says they have 411,741 Image Bank images. Why does VCG have so many more images than Getty says it has?

In many cases VCG says they have a lot more images on their site than Getty has accepted. That could be because those agencies and brands have sent images that Getty refused to accept directly to VCG. But, there are cases where the number of images that can be found on Getty when searching for particular brands is extremely low. I find it hard to believe that Robert Harding World Imagery only has 835 RM images and a total or 1,908 including RF on Gettyimages.com.
Brands represented by Getty might want to check and make sure all their images are showing up when customers search for the subject matter they represent.
The list below shows all the brands with images on VCG indexed on the total number of images from each brand.
