Published by Geoffrey Hiller, Verve photography blog now asks photographers to pay a $50 administrative fee to include work on the site. Hiller says that he needs to support blog operations and advertising does not bring in enough, while photographers benefit from Verve being a key source for photo editors. Though this is not quite the same as a publisher expecting photographers to pay for publication, it still sparked hot debate in the industry, reports Conor Risch on PDN Pulse.
