Though Ellen Boughn got there just a few months sooner, photographer and veteran iStockphoto inspector Rob Sylvan has authored Taking Stock: Make Money in Microstock Creating Photos That Sell, available from Peachpit.
According to the publisher, the number of photographers who have found microstock to be a great source of part- or full-time income has increased steadily in the last few years. Microstock continues growing in popularity with both the traditional buyer market and a new small business and consumer buyer contingent.
Sylvan writes a column for Photoshop User magazine and blogs at Lightroomers. In Taking Stock, he discusses how to shoot, edit and keyword photos that sell in the growing high-volume/low-price market. In addition to how-to information, Sylvan provides more than 50 examples of successful images and tips from their creators.
