New York-based Shutterstock says its On The Red Carpet editorial offering has grown substantially since its 2007 launch.
Shutterstock’s original plan was simple: help micro shooters obtain press credentials to red-carpet events and offer the resulting editorial images at never-before-available price point. The company says this has proven a success: the program has grown from covering two events in 2007 to 127 this year. Shutterstock projects this number will rise to 175 by the end of 2009.
The microstock agency now offers photos from film premieres, fashion shows, sporting events, political appearances and concerts around the world. Covered events have included the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the U.S. Open tennis tournament, Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet Tour, The Black Crowes Tour, the Major League Soccer Semifinal match between Chivas USA and the Los Angeles Galaxy, the Tribeca Film Festival and public appearances by President Barack Obama and other noted politicians.
The program is open to Shutterstock contributors, which currently exceed 200,000 photographers. Contributor information is available by rznvy.
