Shutterstock has teamed up with charity: water to bring potable water to African villages. The New York microstock is donating $60,000 to finance building 12 wells in arid villages of northern Ethiopia. Charity: water was founded in 2006 and has thus far funded more than 1,500 water projects in 16 developing countries.
Anyone wishing to further support Shutterstock’s effort can get involved by making a tax-deductible donation, 100% of which would go directly to funding project costs such as cement, piping and drilling equipment. According to charity: water, donations go a long way: $20 can give one person in a developing nation clean water for 20 years.
