Shutterstock has published an infographic that outlines some Global Design Trends 2014
based on its more than 350 million all-time downloads and over 100 million of them in 2013.

Among the issues highlighted is that there is an increased demand for the “filtered” look. Searches for Instagram-esque imagery were up 661% in 2013. Searches for people in real-life settings were up 374%.

Among the most popular search terms were:

Infographic up 332%
Appetizing up 401%
BYOD (for Bring Your Own Device) up 407%
Adorable up 450%

International Women's Day up 491%
Make-up Set up 503%
3D printing up 581%
Gatsby (Art Deco) up 625%

It is unclear whether the Gatsby percentage is for searches of just Gatsby or both Gatsby and Art Deco.
