Shutterstock has announced the launch of its Dublin office with the intent to initially hire 40 professionals including engineering roles, and to potentially grow the team further over the coming years. This project is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.
The Shutterstock Dublin team will support the global business need for highly skilled, international technical talent. They will initially focus on certain products including the company's Bigstock business and continued development of its editorial platform, Shutterstock Editorial.
The team will use advanced techniques from machine learning, computer vision, cloud computing and analytics to drive the development of capabilities around advanced search, personalisation, recommendation, and intelligent digital rights management.
It is unclear whether all 40 new hires will be in Dublin or whether they intent to hire 40 additional employees worldwide. In the
link they supplied concerning job openings there were opening in Dublin for Data Engineer, Front-End Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer and Software Engineer. (If is possible that multiple people will be needed for each of these job titles.)
However, the site also lists openings for Business Development positions in San Francisco, New York and Berlin; Freelance Picture Editor positions in New York, Paris, Los Angeles and London; a Content Coordinator position in Toronto, a Remote Vector/Illustration Reviewer in New York and a Work From Home Footage Reviewer in Austin, Texas.
In addition, there are openings mostly on the Finance and Marketing side of the business in: Berlin, London, Montreal, Sydney, Seoul, São Paulo, Madrid, Copenhagen and many in New York. In total 34 different job titles are listed. For those interested in a staff position at Shutterstock this may be a good time to apply.
