Science Photo Library Turns 30 and Launches 30:30

The world’s leading specialist image and footage agency, Science Photo Library, has been in the business of providing world-class imagery for the last 30 years. To celebrate, they have launched “30:30” which means clients will receive a series of special anniversary offers throughout the rest of 2011.

The first offer is 30% off of all Royalty Free images and all footage until May 27th 2011. To take advantage of the offer, you will first need to register on Science Photo Library’s website: www.sciencephoto.com (unless you have already bought from them, in which case go through your normal channels) and then place an order before 27th May 2011, quoting “30:30”. The offer can be used once by the company you work for on one order for any number of Royalty Free images and Rights Managed and Royalty Free clips.

Science Photo Library (SPL) was founded in 1981 by Michael Marten, one of the authors of “Worlds Within Worlds”, a book exploring different ways to observe the universe - from electron micrographs, to images of earthrise taken from the Apollo spacecraft. When Marten started receiving requests for the beautiful images in the book, he had the idea of setting up Science Photo Library.

Since then, SPL has continued to work alongside world acclaimed photographers and the leading science and medical experts to provide a central source of the best science and specialist imagery available. Although the collection started with scientific images, it has grown to encompass all aspects of science and their impact on everyday life. In 2009 SPL expanded into footage, and now represents a growing Motion collection of the best science footage from around the world.
