The Swedish Picture Suppliers Association (BLF) says the first Scandinavian trade fair for picture buyers, Image for Sale, was a success. Attendee responses to a follow-up questionnaire were positive, with both visitors and exhibitors requesting a larger-scope event for next year.
Of the buyers attending Image for Sale, 78% said they met a new image supplier they were likely to do business with in the future. BLF said this underscores demand for a supplier/buyer event going forward.
In addition, attendees made suggestions on the scope and content of the 2010 event. Buyers wanted to meet photographers, video companies and illustrators in addition to stock agency reps. Visitors also asked for educational content, notably on copyright issues and techniques for effectively working with images.
BLF is Europe’s second largest stock industry body, exceeded only by the British Association of Picture Libraries and Agencies. Established in 1950, BLF unites 340 active members and is a member of European umbrella body CEPIC.
