A couple weeks ago I wrote about the
Death Of Rights Managed Licensing, but Alamy reports that it is alive and well at Alamy. They say, “There’s been lots of discussion in recent weeks about the future of Rights-Managed licensing. Alamy has no plans to discontinue offering RM images and will continue to offer photographers a choice to license their photos as Rights-Managed or Royalty-Free."

20th anniversary. When James West and Mike Fischer first started Alamy, they had the ambitious mission of building the world’s most diverse stock photo library while wanting to pay contributors fairly. A mission that aimed to satisfy two vastly eclectic parties with a single stroke. The astonishing thing is, that philosophy hasn’t changed even a little bit.

When Getty’s gone Alamy will be the worlds largest distributor of Right Managed images. Customers who need RM content are likely to end up there. RM image creators who don’t already have their work with Alamy may want to consider this option for the future.
