The 2011 CEPIC Congress will take place in Istanbul, Turkey from 18 to 22 May. This annual event, held in a different European country each year, draws stock photography professionals from all over the world. The 2010 Congress in Dublin, Ireland welcomed 700 attendees from 352 companies, 37 countries and five continents. The Halic Congress Center, on the banks of the Golden Horn in Istanbul will be the venue for this Congress.

The CEPIC Congress is the primary meeting place for industry leaders from Stock, Press, Heritage and Trade bodies from every aspect of the Visual Communications Industry. Go to the CEPIC site for registration and hotel information.

A feature of this Congress will be the day long New Media Conference 2 which follows the very successful New Media conference in Dublin. This event will be organized by Marko Oonk and take place on Saturday the 21st of May. Oonk says, “we will be looking at ways to connect to a fast growing and moving group of picture buyers that publish, consume and share pictures.”

In addition there will be a half day International Metadata Conference on Friday, May 20th. The theme of this conference will be "Mind the Gap: Media Convergence and Metadata Solutions," and will focus on building bridges across the troubled waters dividing different types of visual media and content.

“Istanbul will be a cultural and heritage delight and we have planned a very busy social and business program with ample opportunity to do business, to network, to learn, and to enjoy the dynamic vibe of our wonderful industry“, says CEPIC president Christina Vaughan.
