New York-based Pond5 exits beta with 50,000 low-priced broadcast quality footage clips, prices start at $5 each. The community-based business, which lets contributors set their own prices, says it has already secured well-known broadcast and feature clients, including Dreamworks, The History Channel and some TV networks. The company also stresses its higher-than-average contributor commission of 50%, which has attracted over 400 artists and libraries so far.
