Hamburg-based Plainpicture has launched a U.S. operation with an office in New York. This is the boutique agency’s fourth location, following expansion to London and Paris. The agency says its success is rooted in being a source of inspiration and aesthetic challenge for creatives seeking the experimental and unusual.
The initial U.S. offering consists of over 255,000 rights-managed and royalty-free images available online. The U.S. business will be managed by former Photonica staffers Albert Chin and Keiko Narumi, who also bring experience at Jupiterimages and Getty Images, respectively. Chin will head up sales, while Narumi handles photographer relations from a Soho location.
