The Japanese microstock agency PIXTA which purchased Topic, a South Korean premium stock agency a couple years ago, has decided to make a business alliance with OGQ Co.,Ltd. in their "Naver OGQ Market." Naver is Korea's version of Yahoo or Google.
PIXTA says, “we are aiming at expansion of new revenue opportunities for PIXTA Contributor Members by offering the contents to the 42 million Naver users.”
Naver OGQ Market is a digital contents market of stamps, photographs, illustrations and music.
The sales price for each image use will be 200 South Korean Won. This is equivalent to about $0.18 in U.S. dollars. The image creator will receive a royalty percentage of these 18 cent sales. However, royalties will be calculated on the “net profit” of each sale after “tax, the partner settlement charges and OGQ’s commissions etc.” are deducted.
PIXTA contributors who do not want to participate in this “sales opportunity” should notify PIXTA before April 2, 2019. Anyone who hasn’t notified them by that date will be deemed to have accepted and agreed to the sale in the Naver OGQ Market. Their contents will be offered for sale in Naver OGQ Market and other Naver services.
