The Picture Licensing Universal System Coalition and PicScout have entered into an exclusive arrangement where the San Francisco technology company will provide image recognition services to the PLUS Registry.
The registry, which last week received funding of $150,000 from the American Society of Media Photographers, is slated to launch next year. It will combine PicScout’s recently launched Image IRC with PLUS-IDs, an identification system similar to UPC codes and ISBN numbers used in other industries. As a secure online hub, the PLUS Registry will link registries, companies, license information and images.
