PicScout co-founder Offir Gutelzon has stepped up to become its chief executive officer. Gutelzon and co-founder Eyal Gura previously shared CEO responsibilities.
Gutelzon has led all product management, research, development and implementation activities since PicScout was founded six years ago. His work has primarily focused on the company’s flagship, image-recognition software Image Tracker, which allows PicScout clients to monitor stock-image use. The company plans to further improve this software-as-service offering and create new tools and applications that help clients solve copyright-related issues.
Last September, PicScout raised $3.2 million in venture capital to spin off PicApp into a separate business entity. Gura, who remains with PicScout as chairman of the board, is focusing on further developing the ad-supported image-licensing product.
