U.K.-based industry marketing, training and recruitment consultancy Pepper Stark has advised its clients that “a great number” of Jupiterimages’ staff has been made redundant, consequently registering for Pepper Stark’s recruitment service. In an effort to help such people secure new positions, the consultancy is offering its employer-clients significantly reduced recruitment fees.
This announcement, made via email and forwarded to Selling Stock by a subscriber, is not surprising, except for one fact. Getty Images has maintained that Jupiterimages’ layoffs thus far have been limited to the company’s U.S. operations. Pepper Stark’s email to its clients, however, said that former Jupiterimages staffers who registered with the agency “are based in the U.K., U.S., Australia, France and Germany.” It appears that Jupiterimages’ European operations may not be as safe as Getty Images’ spokesperson Bridget Russell has led Photo District News to believe.
