Los Angeles production company Neat Production will host “Headshots for Haiti” on Monday, Feb. 15. The one-day charity event will benefit Partners in Health by offering headshots in exchange for $50 donations, which will fund healthcare services for those affected by the tragedy.
PIH is a 23-year-old healthcare organization that manages operations in 12 countries from its Boston headquarters. PIH work pursues three goals: to care for patients, to alleviate the root causes of disease and to share lessons learned. The organization has worked in Haiti for more than 20 years and is one of the largest local healthcare providers: prior to the earthquake, there were 12 PIH medical facilities, more than 100 doctors, 600 nurses and a total of 4,000 employees.
The digital headshots will be taken by six photographers and a crew of stylists, all of whom are donating their time and services. Photographers include Peter Bohler, Joseph Briscoe, Christina Gandolfo, Sarah Golonka, Eric Raptosh and Maria Schriber.
Former Corbis executive Beate Chelette, who has since built a photography and life-coaching practice, is also attending the Pasadena-based event offering 15-minute sessions. These will need to be pre-paid.
Event organizers say the $50 offer—which provides attendees with a headshot on a flash drive—is a great deal, as headshots normally start at $350. Additional even sponsors include 99Pasadena.com, Jeff Burke, Lorraine Triolo, Venice Business Services, Little Bird Communications, Indie Printing, Ignited, Brooke Hodess, Anne Barton and Georgina Seabrook.
