The European Council-funded Metadata Image Library Exploitation Project will hold its final international conference on June 3, during the Dresden-based annual congress of the Coordination of European Picture Agencies. The MILE Project event, “Know Your Rights: How to Cope with Image Rights,” will be free to CEPIC attendees and carry a €15 cover charge for others.
The event aims to address the key metadata issues of image piracy and the practical applications of copyright metadata. Topics will include image security, digital watermarking, image tracking, workflow processes and the construction of a standard credit line as a means of supporting image export and import.
Speakers include image-tracking company PicScout and watermarking specialist Fraunhofer Media Security. The event is organized by MILE in association with Alinari, the British Association of Picture Libraries and Agencies, Bridgeman Art Gallery and Collections Trust. Registration details are available at the CEPIC Web site.
