Toronto-based Masterfile has launched a royalty-free subscription service, which provides a fixed number of images in a set resolution for a flat fee.
The offering includes four resolution-dependent plans—low, medium, super-high and combination—at monthly or annual increments. Images made available as part of the offering have been culled from Masterfile’s broader collection of close to 2 million royalty-free images. Content will be updated biweekly.
Masterfile executives refer to the new offering as a budget-friendly alternative for volume clients. In addition to savings via the new plans, subscription customers have the opportunity to purchase single images at a 25% discount.
The subscription plans set a daily limit of 50 downloads—designed, according to Masterfile, to allow designers working on big projects the freedom to work more naturally and avoid spreading downloads over multiple days. The company also hopes the diversification provides customers with one source for image purchases.
