Bangladesh-based Majority World, an image company named after the sum of developing countries whose photography it represents, recently launched a campaign promoting the eco-consciousness of its photo-assignment services. In addition to the social responsibility that has been the company’s promotional platform, Majority World now encourages clients to reduce their carbon footprints and costs by commissioning local photographers for shoots in developing countries. The company offers example rates of £3,335 for a 10-day documentary assignment in Ecuador and £295 for a one-day portraiture assignment in Tanzania, both completed on behalf of Western clients.
