Landov Media, a small, but well respected Editorial agency closed its doors last week. It’s website
http://www.landov.com/ says it is no longer available and thanks the company’s “many loyal clients for your business and support through the years.”
The company was founded by Pat Landis and Uri Davidov in early 2002. Both had worked with Timepix, the Time Magazine picture collection, prior to founding Landov. Over the years the Landov had good contacts with newspaper groups. The company represented global wire services, television networks, newspapers and independent photographers.
Sources tell us that the company had tried to continue to charge reasonable prices for the work they distributed but found that they could no longer compete with the discount prices being offered by Getty Images and Associated Press.
The company represented the Reuters archive in the United States. It is unclear what who will represent that archive in the future or what will happen to the other images in the Landov archive.
The company Facebook stream can still be found
here.
