ImageSpan, the creator of LicenseStream platform, has appointed a new chief executive officer. Kurt Garbe succeeds ImageSpan founder Iain Scholnick, who will continue serving as chief platform officer, focusing on strategy and expanding products and partnerships.
The company also announced it has secured additional growth financing, without disclosing the amount. Previous investors Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments and CityLight Capital led the new round of financing. In June 2008, ImageSpan secured $11 million during a second financing round, also led by BDMI. New funds will be used to expand domestic and international sales and marketing and further develop LicenseStream products and services.
Garbe has served in various executive-level posts within the Internet services sector, most recently as CEO of SolutionSet and COO of USWeb. He was also an Adobe entrepreneur-in-residence and held the positions of CEO and COO at software-as-service businesses Movaris and Asera, respectively. According to BDMI principal Keith Titan, who led the ImageSpan CEO search, Garbe has a proven track record for scaling Internet-based services companies.
