The British Association of Picture Libraries and Agencies has announced that Google will host a seminar during this year’s Picture Buyers’ Fair. The two-day event begins May 19, and its organizers have recently revealed major format changes and a new venue.
According to Google project manager Matt Zitzmann, PBF offers Google “a superb opportunity to listen and understand the needs of both picture buyers and sellers” and discuss the company’s own latest developments. While this does not necessarily answer the questions of those wondering if Google is up to something photo-related, the seminar itself might prove more revealing.
Most exemplary of the event’s focus on new media and technology is the new digital gallery, which will showcase a wide range of images. BAPLA chief executive Simon Cliffe promised more announcements of speakers and events soon.
