Now that all of
Getty Images’ Creative Image offering is Royalty Free the company seems to be trying go occasionally get a somewhat higher price for certain uses by offering a
Market Freeze.
They tell customers, “With Market-freeze, you can rest easy knowing we'll remove this image from our site for as long as you need it, with custom durations and total buyouts available.” Unlike
Stocksy,, there are no clear prices for these uses. Everything must be negotiated.
Part of the negotiations can also include whether the customer wants sister images removed as well for the time period requested. Getty also says they will provide sales history for all previous uses up to the date of the market freeze.
They don’t seem to offer the “Market Freeze” for Editorial Images, or Video, but that is unclear.
