This week, Getty Images launched its annual multimedia “Mishmash” challenge that asks creatives to produce short videos using Getty content. The company said last year’s competition received an overwhelmingly positive response.
Video entries must be one to three minutes long and must feature Getty footage and at least one track from Pump Audio—or a mash-up of up to five tracks. The Pump Audio collection currently offers more than 50,000 music tracks by independent artists. On the video side, contestants can choose from 528,000 footage clips in the Getty collection.
Deadline for entries is October 31. Rules, a brief and other information is available at the Mishmash site, which will be used to put entries to a community vote—and a prize will be awarded to the entrant who picks up the most votes.
Winners will be selected by a jury that unites leaders from media, advertising and video production companies. First-place winners from three regions—EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), the Americas and Asia-Pacific—will be announced on November 15 and will each receive of a MacBook Pro, complete with editing software. One global grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to the Sundance Film Festival in Salt Lake City.
