Getty Images has launched a business-to-business affiliate program, which will allow Web site owners to earn commissions by pointing traffic to gettyimages.com. The company hired LinkConnector, an affiliate-marketing company based in Cary, N.C., to manage the program.
Limited to purchases made by U.S.-based customers, the program pays affiliates a 15% commission on sales generated by Getty Images as a result of referrals from the affiliates' Web sites. Transactions eligible for this commission are validated after a 30-day return window. According to Getty Images, its average unassisted online sale is more than $600, which would lead to an affiliate commission of over $90.
LinkConnector will provide various services, including campaign set-up, promotion, tracking, reporting and support for affiliates. The company will use its proprietary technologies, including Naked Link, FraudFREE Protection and Source Checker, to manage the Getty affiliate-marketing campaign.
Tony Berle, director of indirect sales for Getty Images, says that LinkConnector's "outstanding client relations" also played a role in selecting a partner for the program. LinkConnector maintains two dedicated customer-service departments: one for merchants, the other for affiliates.
Participating in the program is free; however, all applicants will be pre-approved by Getty Images prior to receiving the code and other tools necessary to place and track a text link, banner or search box on their Web sites. Getty Images will also monitor and restrict affiliates' search-engine promotions as necessary.
