Getty Images has made a deal to exclusively represent the photo archive of the New York Daily News. Over 100,000 of the newspaper’s images are already available at the Getty Web site.
The archive dates back to paper’s founding in 1919, with some additional coverage dating even earlier, to the 1880s. Photographers whose work is featured include Charles Hoff, Mel Finkelstein and Dan Farrell. The Daily News has received numerous photography awards, including the Pulitzer Prize and the George Polk Award.
This imagery is available for both commercial and editorial licensing alongside Getty’s 80-million-image Hulton Archive.
