Getty Images has updated its Web site with a new podcast, in which award-winning staff photographer Mario Tama discusses his varied photojournalism projects. Highlights include images of 9/11, post-Hurrican Katrina New Orleans and the U.S. election.
Tama joined Getty in 2001 after working with such clients as The Washington Post and Agence France-Presse. Since relocating to New York, he has covered news and cultural events ranging from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to the funeral of Pope John Paul II. His exhibits, awards and other honors are too numerous to mention, with the most recent including the 2008 Cliff Edom’s New America Award for his work in New Orleans and a still-open Emmy nomination for multimedia project “Coney Island: An Uncertain Future.”
The podcast section of Getty’s Web site also features similar inside looks into the life and work of photographers including Brent Stirton, Paula Bronstein, John Moore and others.
