Getty Images has launched SmartSections and SmartTopics, the newest additions to the SmartMedia product suite.
Launched late last year, the SmartMedia product is an editorial content delivery system for online publishers. It began with SmartGalleries, which focuses on photo publishing and includes tools to produce photo-grallery pages and widgets that use Getty editorial imagery.
SmartSections and SmartTopics launched this week to provide publishers with a way to source, manage and compose content by grouping articles, images, tweets, quotes, timelines and video. The system brings together client content with other content from the Web, using proprietary auto-filling technology by Daylife. SmartTopics organize information on one topic (for example, President Obama), and SmartSections cover a broader subject area (for example, U.S. Presidents).
SmartMedia integrates with existing Web sites as a fully hosted solution. Getty and Daylife promise additional developments in the future.
