American Association of Advertising Agencies’ senior vice president and Ad-ID managing director Harold S. Geller has accepted a seat on the board of directors of the Picture Licensing Universal System Coalition.
The 4As has also joined the Coalition. Geller will serve as its delegate, representing the interests of the association and the broader ad industry, which he says will benefit from adopting PLUS standards. Geller plans to integrate PLUS in Ad-ID, an online program developed jointly by the 4As and the Association of National Advertisers to identify and manage advertising assets, thus improving workflow between agency, advertiser, distributor and medium. PLUS standards, Geller said, would allow agencies and advertisers to more efficiently acquire and manage image licenses.
According to PLUS Coalition president and chief executive Jeff Sedlik, Geller is an expert in the field of digital asset management and metadata. Sedlik also stresses the benefits of the support and membership of the 4As.
The Coalition currently includes participants in 30 countries. Key supporters include ASMP, ADBASE, Adobe, APA, PACA, Pentagram, AAAA, Capture, CDAS, Digimarc, Getty Images, IDEAlliance, ImageSpan, IPTC, J. Paul Getty Trust, NAPP, PDN, PicScout, StockPhotoFinder, Swan Turton and WongDoody.
