Swedish mobile photography startup
Foap has secured $1.5 million in funding that will go towards further growing the company. The company will be taking its first steps into the American market by opening an office in New York in September.
Foap allows mobile phone users to earn money from their pictures by uploading them to its platform where those who need images can view and purchase the images they like.
The company has recently launched Foap Missions making it possible for customers to request photos and build an image gallery for marketing. Brands can set their communities photo missions, getting users to upload specific images and competing against each other for the best pic. The chosen winner receives a cash reward and their image will then be used in future marketing campaigns. Further images can be bought for $10.
David Los, co-founder of Foap, said: "We've already worked with Mango, Puma, Lavazza, VisitSweden and many more household names in the pipeline. It's important we build on this and grow our sales teams so this round couldn't of come at a better time."
